What is cute, offshore software development, and warm all over? Well that would be Little Big Planet on the Playstation 3 of course. From the developer who brought you Rag Doll Kung Fu, Media Molecule, comes a new look at things that are offshore software development in a big world. The whole objective of Little Big Planet is that you control a offshore software development character and are given objects to manipulate in the environment. Part of the game seems like a developer tool but another part feels like a sandbox game, where you can do anything you want. You can add any number of objects and how to manipulate these objects with your characters are at your discretion. Not only will objects play a good role in the game, you will be given levels to complete by using these objects to meet your objectives. The controls in the game are simple, such that with the left analog stick you control your offshore software development guy around the environment. Along with controlling him, you are able to jump using the X button. And with objects surrounding him, you are able to use your offshore software development guy to interact with these objects using the O button. Of course that doesn’t mean you can’t use a little Rag Doll Kung Fu on your friends. With that in mind, I’m sure there may be more Kung Fu flying around than objects being moved. Now since this is a planet you are walking on, you will have a globe menu system where you will be able to access levels and areas. And there is emphasis on teamwork within Little Big Planet as well. There are times where you may need another player to help you move objects or reach a certain area in the big world. Plus with another player you will be able to complete certain environmental puzzles throughout the course of the game. And let us not forget that you will be able to create your very own custom levels to play within the game too. Visually, Little Big Planet is an impressive sight to see on the Playstation 3. With its photo realistic environments and the highly detailed character models, this is one game to impress. The game does a good job of blending real world objects with some not so real environments and objects. And the seamless transitions from low scale views to up scale views, really shine and shows what this game is made of. If you were to classify next generation environments, this would be the title to base your decision on. Little Big Planet is a new twist on sandbox games and it would seem like it has done a good job on setting itself apart from others. With this being a true Playstation 3 exclusive, you can understand why you have that black box sitting in your living room. With Little Big Planet schedule to be released next year, you have plenty of time to imagine what offshore software development fun you can have with all your friends. ... offshore software development
